5 ways to be active with the grandkids

gpaBALLThere’s nothing more inspiring than seeing elderly people (grandparents) getting out and enjoying life.  Use some of these TIPS to be part of life with your grandkids…

1) Rock-climbing, not you, them, all you have to do is belay (stand still and lean back!)

2) 10 pin bowling: use the lightest ball if strength is an issue: the kids will love trying to out-strike you and let them!

3) Bike ride: this can be a graceful day in the park.  Click here for loads of bike paths to choose from, no matter where you are there is something for you. So saddle up!

4) Catching practice: Throw a ball (hand-ball, tennis, cricket, softball, netball) use a bat or use your arms / hand). Get out and about (backyard or park )- this is good skill development for the kids and gives you another opportunity to bond with them.

TOP TIP: Cap it all off with an ice-cream – for you and them. All up it’s an easy, cheap and memorable day.
