Jeff's huge list included going kite-flying in the park. I have a 4-year old who has been flying kites for half his life-time :-) OK, so a 2 year old can't do much more than clutch the string for a few moments, but the older they get, the more they get into it and the more they get out of it! Costs are minimal, particularly if you make your own kites. There's a few simple ones on our site, plus our Tiny Tots Diamond which is fast to make and a reliable flier. When you get out there, just be wary of dogs on the loose, and tall trees...

Took up surfing with my 10 year old boy at Byron. What a treat to catch them waves as father and son.
We were at The Pass the day that kid got belted with that run away board - ouch!
Tip: Keep your kids away from adult beginners, they're lethal. All would do well to be reminded of the rules, dude on the inside get right of way.
Not sure whether we should be donning helmets - what do you think?
