CRHow many kids do you have and what are their ages? I have three kids aged 3,5 and 7.

What is your greatest ‘Dad moment’ outside of your kid(s) birth? I think the greatest Dad moments are not big events but rather the day to day unique and hysterical things that come out of their mouths. Today’s installment during a bike ride “My arms are getting tired of being in front of me. I could ride further if I had no arms.”

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a Dad? The most rewarding thing about being a Dad is seeing your kids learn things you have helped teach them.

And watching those rare moments when all three of them are playing together and loving each others company. Also because this is probably the only time in the week when you can pick up a newspaper.

What drives you crazy about being a Dad? The what feels like three hours between saying it’s bed time and the kids finally being asleep. They can prolong the process of brushing teeth for longer than the 100 year war. And are guaranteed to say they are hungry as soon as they finish anyway.

What’s your kids favorite meal, that is made by you? Would you like to share that recipe with us? Favorite meals are hard, the problem being that every one of them has a different favourite meal and for most meals on of the three will say they don’t like it. We tend to go the masses of vegetables hidden in the food route – like the spag bol or the pesto pasta with hidden broccoli. They are going to get a shock one day when they taste normal pesto.

What’s your response to “Dad we’re bored”? Go outside.

What’s the best holiday you’ve done with the kids and why? Hiring a place by the beach in summer. Being able to go back and forward to the beach all day is great for everyone. Although at my kids age you can forget packing that summer novel.

If there was one piece of advice you would give to a new dad what would it be? If you are a clean freak get over it now. The path my kids leave in a house makes Cyclone Katrina look like a light breeze.
